JBNU Psychology Department, since the establishment in 1978 and the acceptance of first freshmen in 1979, have
discharged many graduates to play a major role in national development in various communities.
Also with the establishment of Masters degree graduate program in 1983 and the Ph. D. graduate program in 1995,
JBNU is becoming more renowned as a central institution of national psychology education.
Our 10 professors and excellent students will work together in academic development and professional training
to meet social responsibilities and in turn grow into international world of psychology.
In the current society, various fields of psychology is rapidly evolving and the demand for psychology professionals
in corporate or government agencies, hospitals and counseling agencies, research institutions, schools and various
institutions are growing each day.
With certain requirements fulfilled, one can receive national certificate of technical qualification such as Psychologist
Level 1 and 2 (Human Resources Development Service of Korea), Clinical psychologist of Mental Health level 1 and 2
(Ministry of Health and Welfare), and if one fulfills specific additional qualifications and training standards for each
division of Korean Psychological Association one can acquire Psychologist (Level 1, 2) and psychology professional
qualifications. These license policy will provide basis for psychology students to work as a professionals within
the society in the future.
